Initiiert und kuratiert von Andreas Kramer. Mit Unterstuetzung des Videokuenstlers Frank Brauer entstand bei der Präsentation in Berlin auch ein Video.
Metropolis ist ein internationales Künstlerbuchprojekt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Centro Internazionale della Grafica in Venedig. Kurator und Ideengeber ist der Berliner Künstler Andreas Kramer.
303 Künstler aus der ganzen Welt interpretieren das Thema Metropolis.
Die Teilnehmer kommen u.a. aus Australien, Japan, Brasilien, den USA, Italien, Deutschland, Russland, Polen , Ungarn, Großbritannien, Frankreich, Spanien Tunesien und Kanada.
Das Ergebnis ist ein Leporello (Faltbuch) von über 60 Meter Länge. Jeder einzelne Künstler ist mit einer originalgrafischen Arbeit, in einer Auflage von drei Exemplaren (Holzschnitt, Radierung, Lithografie, Siebdruck etc.) im Format 20 x 20 cm am Projekt beteiligt. Gebunden und geklebt wurde das Buch in den Werkstätten des Centro Internazionale della Grafica in Venedig. Die Reihenfolge der Arbeiten im Buch ist nicht alphabetisch sondern wurde nach künstlerisch-ästhetischen Gesichtspunkten von Kurator Andreas Kramer bestimmt.
Geplant ist eine Ausstellungsserie an mehreren Ausstellungsorten u.a. in Deutschland, Italien, Brasilien, USA, Japan, Spanien und Frankreich.

303 artists from around the world interpret the theme of Metropolis.
The Participants et al from Australia, Japan, Brazil, USA, Italy, Germany, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, France, Spain, Tunisia and Canada.
The result is a Leporello (Faltbuch) of over 60 meters in length. Each individual artist is involved with an original graphic work, in an edition of three copies (woodcut, etching, lithography, screen printing, etc.) in the format 20 x 20 cm in the project. Bound and glued the book was in the workshops of the Centro Internazionale della Grafica in Venice. The order of the work in the book is not alphabetically but was determined by artistic-aesthetic point of curator Andreas Kramer.
The plan is a series of exhibitions at several venues, among others in Germany, Italy, Brazil, USA, Japan, Spain and France.
